OC Business Journal

PHILANTHROPY:

CALL FOR ENTRIES: $204M reported in prior year’s list

2021’s top charitable gifts highlighted in Feb. 14 edition

Did you, your company or foundation give—or did your organization receive—a large cash or noncash gift in 2021?

If so, the Business Journal wants to hear from you.

We’re in the beginning stages of collecting data for the largest cash and noncash gifts of 2021 donated by companies, foundations and people to recipients in Orange County.

The list is scheduled to publish in the Feb. 14 print edition of the Business Journal, an issue that will highlight a wealth of philanthropic efforts taking place in OC.

Cash gifts of $1 million or more and other notable noncash gifts will be considered for the list and related coverage.

Last year in our annual listing, we published 65 entries in our ranking of 2020 gifts.

It was capped by the Simon Foundation for Education and Housing $12.9 million gift to Chapman University for the Sandi Simon Center for Dance, STEM Scholarship Program and the Simon Scholars Physicians Assistant Program.

Other area business executives and their families, such as Charles and Ling Zhang and Nicholas and Lee Begovich, also played prominent parts in the list.
