TUSTIN:

A bevy of new openings at The District shopping center

The District at Tustin Legacy has several anchor restaurants including The Winery Tustin, Prego and Lucille’s Barbecue, but they have an increasing amount of new competition. New openings at the outdoor center include Casa Del Sol Cocina Mexicana, Baked Dessert Bar, Sal’s Pizzeria, Fast Hot Pot, Isla Dominicana and OC KBBQ.

“More than ever, The District has been a steady go-to for the community’s daily shopping and dining needs and as the years go by, we look forward to continually evolving with new stores and eateries that we think locals will love, from globally-inspired eats with big flavors to unique services and concepts,” said Shannon Campbell, marketing director for The District, in a statement. Casa Del Sol offers live performances from the internationally-renowned Mariachi Sol de Mexico, led by Latin Grammynominated conductor Jose Hernandez. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant takes over the former Auld Dubliner space and features an outdoor patio with a private dining room.

Baked Dessert Bar specializes in Filipino-inspired gourmet cupcakes, cakes, cheesecakes, macarons and more.

Sal’s Pizzeria is a fast-casual pizza concept with an emphasis on New York and Sicilian-style pizza, including best-sellers such as the Grandma Pie and Brooklyn Cheese Pie. Sal’s Pizzeria is next to AMC Tustin 14 theaters.

Fast Hot Pot is a fast-casual eatery specializing in Szechuan Mala-Tang hot pots. Fresh skewers and a variety of ingredients accompany cauldrons of bold and spicy soup broths.
