Republican business execs abound on Richard Nixon Foundation

The Richard Nixon Foundation’s board of directors has long attracted Orange County Republican business heavyweights such as Gavin Herbert Sr., founder of Allergan, and entrepreneur and former ambassador George Argyros, whose daughter Lisa is currently on the board.

Other current prominent business executives currently on the board include shopping center developer Steven Craig, whose Newport Beach-based Craig Realty Group owns 15 outlet centers in eight states; James Cavanaugh, who was president of Allergan International; and Lawrence Higby, who was CEO at Apria Healthcare Group Inc. Cavanaugh and Higby each had prior staff roles at the White House.

Other well-known OC business leaders who are Nixon Foundation supporters include Peter Ganahl, CEO of Ganahl Lumber; Doy Henley, CEO of Henley Properties; Leland Smith, founder and chairman of Service Champions; and the Segerstrom family, which owns Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza.
