THE OCBJ REVIEW
As Jeoffrey Offer and I chatted over lunch, I devoured what is quickly becoming the restaurant’s signature burger: the Mountain Burger featuring dry-aged beef, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, Dijon mayo, bacon, a thick slice of potato, and a generous mound of Raclette cheese poured on top.
This is France meets America at its best. The potato slice and the Raclette cheese make this burger a delightful and messy handful unlike any other I have had.
The fries that accompanied the burger rank among the best ever. Obviously hand cut, they are served crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a simple coating of salt and pepper.
Offer also had me try the traditional pork sausage from Toulouse. Damn good sausage. I can’t wait to go back and try more menu items.
Butcher’s House is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Sundays for brunch.
